White Fillings

Cavities, caused by decay in your tooth enamel, are one of the most common dental conditions we see at our office. To ensure that your smile remains strong and healthy, we provide white fillings to restore the integrity of your natural tooth structure and prevent the decay from spreading. Dental fillings are strong materials placed in the empty spaces on your tooth that are left when tooth decay is removed. Dr. Marvin Herschfus, our gifted dentist, utilizes white fillings in Berkley, Michigan for superior strength and a natural aesthetic.

White fillings are made from composite resin, a sturdy ceramic mixture that we will to match to the natural color of your teeth. Generally, it only takes one visit to our dental office to apply a white filling. We will gently remove all of the tooth decay from your enamel and then thoroughly sanitize the area. The composite resin is soft when we first apply it to your tooth surface, allowing Dr. Marvin Herschfus to sculpt the white filling to fit the natural surface and bite of your tooth. The white filling is hardened with a light and finally polished to a beautiful shine. We will continue to monitor your white filling during regular dental check-ups to make sure it is functioning properly. To learn more about white fillings, please contact our dental office today.
